About Bimal Raj Paudel
Hi, I’m Bimal Raj Paudel.
I’m a growth and go-to-market strategist based in Kathmandu. I’ve been doing this in Nepal for over ten years — not teaching it, not posting about it, but actually running campaigns and owning the numbers.
For most of that time I’ve been building things as well as advising on them. An e-learning platform that has been running since 2018. A tech publication. A personal finance app on the Play Store. And since 2023, growth and marketing at Trip Turbo, where the app passed 500,000 downloads and won the ICT Award 2025 People’s Choice.
That mix is the point. I’ve had to make things work on a real budget and on almost none, for my own products and for other people’s.
If you want the short version of what I do for businesses, that’s on my digital marketing services page. This page is the longer story of how I got here.
How I Actually Got Started
I did not start in an agency.
I started in college, running what became one of Nepal’s largest meme pages. Two years of writing things strangers would share with their friends. It taught me more about what makes Nepali audiences click than any course could have.
In 2017, still in college, I took my first real client — the Nepal International Film Festival. I handled their digital campaign. Around the same time I started freelancing on SEO.
Then 2020 happened.
During lockdown I took a loan for an NPR 80,000 laptop and went all in on WP Tracer, my tech publication. No income, no backup plan. It worked — affiliate partnerships, real organic traffic, an audience. Then lockdown ended and I took a job, leaving the project mid-flight. I still think about that one.
The job was Trip Turbo. I chose it over a higher-paying offer because their CMO was an experienced Indian marketer and I wanted to learn from him. He left a few months later.
So I learned the job by doing it. I joined when the marketing team was two people. By 2024 I was leading it, and today that team is over seven.
But I never stopped building my own things alongside it. The Pro Notes has been running since 2018. I launched Bhudki in 2026. The consulting work carried on throughout multiple domain businesses.
Ten years in, that’s the pattern. Build something, find out what actually works, take it into the next thing.
I write about this in more detail in my digital marketing journey.
What I Do
Three things, mostly.
Go-to-Market Strategy
A product without a plan is just a hobby. As a GTM strategist, I help businesses work out who they’re actually for, what to charge, and how to reach them — before any money goes into ads.
I built the go-to-market plan behind Travel Mela, Trip Turbo’s launch campaign. That single campaign drove more than 60,000 downloads.
Paid Ads
Organic builds trust. Paid builds speed. You usually need both.
I run Meta and Google campaigns with budgets from NPR 50,000 to NPR 10,00,000 a month. The job is simple to state and hard to do — bring the cost per acquisition down, push the return on ad spend up, and be honest about which channel is actually working.
SEO and Technical Search
I don’t just write content and hope. I build it to rank.
That means technical SEO — schema, Core Web Vitals, site architecture — alongside content people actually want to read. Running WP Tracer for years gave me an unusual amount of hands-on time with how search behaves, and that shows up in client work.
This site is the proof I’d point to first. I rebuilt it myself, moved it off WordPress onto Astro, and I use it to test everything I recommend.
What I’ve Built
These are mine. Nobody briefed me, and there was nobody to blame when they didn’t work.
Bhudki — a privacy-first, offline personal finance app for Nepal, live on the Play Store. Built, launched and grown by me. Owning a product end to end is a very different education from advising on one, and it’s the reason I understand app growth the way I do.
The Pro Notes — a free e-learning platform giving Nepali students digitised notes and syllabus access. Running since 2018, which makes it the longest-lived thing I’ve built. Every visitor it has ever had came from organic search. Eight years of doing SEO on my own site, with my own money, is where most of what I know actually came from.
WP Tracer — a tech publication covering WordPress, plugins, and consumer software. This is the one I took the laptop loan for. It reached real traffic and affiliate income before I left it to take a job.

Beyond the Dashboards
I spend a lot of my day in Meta Ads, GA4 and Looker Studio. But I don’t think good marketing comes from dashboards. It comes from paying attention to people.
I’m still learning constantly, mostly about how AI is changing search and how Nepali businesses should respond to it. I’d rather be early and occasionally wrong than late and safe.
Outside work, I’m usually reading about something unrelated to marketing, or drinking more tea than I should.
